Now i want to clean up the engine compartment. Can i ditch the coolant tank.
What do i need to add to make the dragstrip happy.
If anyone can post s thread or let me know how i should mount an overflow tank. That would be great. Never done this. First race vehicle EVER.

Do i need to get a new pulley or just a belt? Dont see any threads for AC removal cuz everyone is down south.

A/C has it's own belt. Remove it when you remove the compressor. Thats it.

Came across a 2wd 4l80 from a 1/2 body style 3/4 ton truck for asking price $400. Will the crossmember bolt right into my truck? I hopefully get it for $250. That would make up my mind on getting a th400 if can get this 4l80 to work....what else should i get from the truck to make it work?

Seen my rack is leaking bad. I know the tracks wont like that. So thinking manual rack. Would that cut weight? & might as well do manual brakes. That would really cut the front weight i'm thinking. What will these conversions set me back buying bolt-on?

Im used to manual. I just took my jetta in the ice cirlce track on lake st clair & had a blast drifting. Until i cranked a 3ft snow bank & framed it. But throttled out while still in motion & got off. It was something i always wanted to do. my jettas a death trap no brakes just e-brake when hold the pedal to the floor or e hand brake. Drove though 2 tracks & 16" of snow at 45mph like nothing w 175's on. Had to wheel the **** out of it to keep out the ditches & trees.
When i was a kid my cousin had old ****** mail jeep no powesteering. Had to use the suicide **** to actually get any leverage. We hit lots of trees & close rolls because it that.

i'll be alright. Doesnt mean i'm not going to have nice aluminum seat, harness, roll cage. I've been in some hard hits in tin cans. A cage & seat belt do alot.

If it aint a street truck. Then call it hacked up redneck pos. that will get under more ppls skin & make me grin.

Aint nothing right now tho. Its actually burried in my back yard. Thought i'd take a run at 16" of snow & lost. threw a damn huge rooster tall w nice bfgs & the 1/4 panels cut flush w back of bed. Usually get the mail do a donut & come back up to the house to keep battery going. Its around 0 out today & the barn isnt insulated.
Prob be next spring. Going to pull motor. Drop off at my lonely bros who's stuck at home w 2 girls. I'll end up going over board sending him parts. I really want to be able to bounce the rev limiter without it letting go theres not much law out here you can have fun. I could prob take dirt roads all the way to lapeer drag strip.

I'm not really sure what safety features your talking about? It's not like he is removing the steering or brakes? Manual steering is fine with a decent gear box and lots of cars on the road still have manual brakes.
