I never knew the transmission was bolted to the engine using studs. Interesting. I like that.

Yea. its basically a bolt with a stud on it as pictured above. I really like that idea too. Mainly for the reasons listed above.

The top left bolt has a bracket on it. It's easier to put the bolt in and then slide the bracket on to the stud than it is to try to line them both up at the same time.
Same with the dipstick. Once you get it into place it slides over the stud and then you just put the nut on.

I remember seeing a set of LS1 engine stand bolts on ebay once...

Yea they have a set for like $20 shipped but I need them in a few days.....
