Default Anyone received their new tailgate cables?

I got my recall letter several months ago saying these would become available in August and a local dealer would contact me. I still haven't heard anything and it's almost September. Has anyone received their letter to go to the dealership to get their tailgate cables replaced?

Sure haven't. I just got new "old" cables and put those on for now. Not really an issue for me...although its in the back of my mind when I step up on it.

I did. I went down to the dealership and asked them about the recall. I bought the new cables and they told me to come back with the reciept and they will refund my money after the recall is issued officially.

Sounds like everyone's in the same boat....I guess i'll call the dealership tomorrow and see when they're supposed to get them in.

Did you put a magnet to them to see if they are indeed stainless steel? They replaced mine on my old '02 with another set of carbon steel and tried to call it good.
