Another Hypertech question
#1
I did a search already and I have some questions. I just came up on a Hypertech power programmer 30012. Does this programmer ONLY work with 2002 GM vehicles? Also I dont know if the programmer was already programmed to another truck, if it is, is it still possible to use the programmer on other trucks? Or does the first truck programmed has to be unprogrammed for you to use it on another truck? Did I lose anyone on that?
Thanks

Cant tell you for sure about the year but it can only be used on one vehicle at a time. If it's installed one vehicle it can't be used on another. Unless you got it for free and intend to sell it I wouldn't get it. I see your post count and not trying to be a *** or anything but I'd assume you know they are worthless.

If you want a tune check our sponsor Wheatley on the right. That's 100 times better than any hyper crap will get you.
Or if you prefer to tune your self check out HP Tuner or EFI Live.

from memory i think the '99-00 was the same [for the 4.8 and 5.3] so if you want one look for one for those years.
if all you want is to be able to adjust the trans a little firmer and raise the speed limiter or adjusting for tire size and you aren't looking for big power gains, they work. i had one on my truck before the blower and nelson tune and it was fine, no issues and it gave a little power increase, got the speedo bac where it should be and got rid of the slushy shifting.
i've looked at the tune on edit and it looks a little "lazy", like they just bumped the stock tune up by a percentage but its a little more aggresive on the timing curve.
if you can get it really cheap i wouldn't say " it's worthless" but i would say that a custom tune is a better option.
