Default AHHHH No oil pressure.. help.

Sup guys? The other day I started my truck and noticed that it did not build oil pressure for about 30 seconds, then the pressure went all the way up to 80 lbs. after that I saw it at idle around 25-30lbs. This was on my way home. I kept an eye on it and cruising it would not go past about 40lbs under light throttle. I got home and the next day i started the truck and it did not build pressure at all. I have changed the oil filter(mobil1), I also changed the oil pressure switch behind the manifold as well. Still no luck. There is no knock(yet) and the oil in the pan has clean oil(no copper). The gauges do go down to zero when I start the truck, so I think that they are working properly. Does anyone have any ideas? What should I do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks.

It's an 04 with 44,000 on the clock. I might just have to bite the bullet and change it. It's just alot of work to do if im not sure that it's the problem. Other than that, I dont know what else it could be.

Try hooking a manual gauge up to verify? Could be the the motor is going out on the cluster?

I'm going to borrow one tomorrow. I thought about that too, but when I turn the key, The gauge resets itself. I'm going to look into that after I check the pressure with a manual gauge. Thanks.

Problem solved. After about $140 worth of things that I replaced, I found That there was an electrical short. It's fixed now. Thanks for the help.

Ya I was going to say I doubt it was the oil pump. You would've heard it and the engine would have definitely sounded different.
