Thumbs up 88 Mustang GT 5speed goes down

Coming back from work tonight a guy I used to work with comes up next to me.He starts jumping the car at me to get me to go,so I fiqure what the hell??
From 65mph I hit it and so does he, by 80 I have at least 4 lengths if not more on him so I let out. His car is just a stock 88 5speed GT,but it's still fun to get a kill on a Mustang.Especially a hwy kill

Nice Kill.

Is scary how fast these trucks are on the freeway. Alot faster then they should be for the 'flying bricks' that they are.

are these 5.0's fast or something? all the little highschoolers are riding around in these 5.0's now a days like they're king of the road. granted they've got a nice growl to em, but are they a good race stock 4.8/5.3 to stock 5.0?

They were the car to have back then, low cost and responded well to mods. If I remember right they are faster than the 4.6 GT's,at least the early 4.6's.

A 5.0 stock should be in the mid to low 15's stock
An early 4.6 is afew tenths slower stock
The new 4.6 (rated 40hp more) are in the high 14's stock

The problem with the Fox body mustangs is that everyone has one and it is so cheap and easy to make them go fast. It is noting out of the ordinary to see a dozen or so of them at the dragstrip on a street night and have atleast 6 of them running 12.9's or faster.
