I have a 2001 Chevy 6.0L 3500 Crew Cab LT Dually. I am trying to decide what to have done to it while I am gone. My buddy Terry is going to hook me up with music, but I am lost on improving performance. I would like to get suggestions and if you have a truck like mine what have you done to yours..

Turn the gas cap couter clockwise, drive dually out of the way, drive that Corvette under gas cap, turn clockwise and enjoy!
You would have to do alot to a gas powered dually to make any noticeable performance gains, but just like everone else, you can't go wrong with tuning, exhaust, intake. The problem with alot of the mods that folks do around here, you may end up sacrificing low-end torque or towing ability for high rpm hp, which I am guessing that you would not be wanting to do.
How much does it weigh?

both LOL
if funds allow build up a 408 stroker ( 4" stroke and 4.030" bore) and then if funds are still available get a whipple 3.3l
that should keep you satisfied performance wise for a little while

i think the closest you'll get to this is whitt1 he has a tahoe with a 402 and a radix and is working on a whipple 3.3L
a 402 is 4" stroke and 4" bore
the radix isnt quite a big enough blower for the 402/408 but the new radix mp122HH should be
word is the 3.3l whipple wont fit under the hood of a 1500 but it shouls fit under a hd since they have a higher hood and a 2" bodylift stock
if this is your tow vehicle you dont want front mount turbo(s) (too much heat) the sts is a nice kit if thats what you want and they make great power
if you do this you will need a suncost trans upgrade ( im assuming you have the allison)
also checkout Whippled 496 he has a whipple on a 8.1l but it might tell you about the whipple
