Default 5.3 liter Intake

Is there any difference between a 5.3 liter intake and a 6.0 liter intake. I am told that the 6.0 liter intake will flow more air/fuel. Any help would be appriciated.

Nope, they are the same. What year vehicle are you speaking of? The newer NNBS intakes flow better but are not a direct swap.

Default Intake

2000 Silverado with a 5.3, cold air intake, catalytic converters removed, custom Diablo tune, TCI 2600 stall converter, B&M shift kit, Summit MAF,Still running single exhaust at the moment still looking at which brand of long tube headers to go with, truck pull hard through 100 M.P.H.

Came across a 6.0 liter intake off of an 03 Silverado, was told it may flow better.

Thankful for any help.

Nope, same intakes from 99-07classic, then they went with a 90mm TB style one that flows much better over the pre 07's but it does take some work to get them on. You need to ditch the hand held and go with a custom tuned PCM.

Thank you for the information. I "assume" that the throttle body size and fuel injectors are the same size on both intakes. I am slowly working up to that point on a custom PCM, light budget, two kids going to college. Any suggestions on a brand for long tube headers?

In order to run your truck injectors in a 07 up intake, it requires a new fuel rail cross over( has to be made) or a billet rail set up with a aftermarket FPR, making new lines ect or the use of injector pig tail adapters, you can use the new intake with all of its injectors and all. You will still need to modify the part of the fuel system so that it will work with your return style fuel system. People have used a corvette FPR to do this, have had good luck. The fuel rails on the 07 up intakes are made for a returnless set up where as trucks from 99-03 use a return style. Next is the 07 up intake uses a 4 bolt 90 mm tb where as trucks from 99-07classic use a 3 bolt 78mm. You can run a adapter on the new intake so you can use your 3 bolt 78mm tb on it. Also you will need a Dr X TB adapter because the 90mm TB has a diff plug configuration then the 78mm. Either way you do it, it is some work and money involved. Again the intakes from 99-07classic trucks are ALL the same, injectors will work from a 4.8 in a 6.0 and any way you look at it. 07 was the change over year on intakes, injectors.. As for headers, it would seem your on a budget, but at a minimum I would try to score a set of stainless headers. Just my opinion on that though. Hope you can understand that LOL.

I follow you on the style of intakes for the 07 and up, it was just a thought and had the chance to get one cheap. I will start looking for a set of headers, that seems to be what will give me the biggest bang for my buck. Thank you for your time and the information.

What about a " LS1" throttle body for my 5.3 any difference there, or are they the same?
