Theres supposed to be a base vette with a 5.3 making close to 400hp to keep price at or below 50k. Saw some vid that stated it so it may not be true. Trucks cant be that far off.

It all depends on the cam they use, usually for the trucks they use a cam geared more for torque than HP. Look at the current 6.2L: trucks have 403 hp and stock vette is 426 different cams and compression as I recall. That is my guess.

I have heard that the hp/trq numbers are supposed to be out this month along with the mpg ratings. The realistic numbers thrown around for the 6.2 are more like 430/450 as it will have smaller direct injection gains compared to the other engines (4.3 & 5.3) because the 6.2 already had a pretty high compression ratio to start with. I am alright with those numbers if it runs regular 87 octane fuel and good mpg gains of 14/20 or better to more closely match the 15/21 ratings of the 4wd ecoboost and 8 speed hemi...otherwise I may be looking at the other trucks.
