Default 2005 chevy 5.3 fuel filter change/mod

I want to change the fuel filter. I know it is in the tank.

Can I take it out of the tank and splice one in on the fuel line on the frame rail? Has anyone ever done this. Do u remove it from the tank or just gut it?

I put a walbor 255 in the canister about 5k miles ago. Truck just seams sluggish and dont run the track times it used to.

Its just a sock in the tank... I doubt that is your issue. If any thing, I would say the pump has an issue but you should put a gauge on it and check out first.

It isn't just a sock. 05s have the filter and regulator in the tank.

The regulator is built into the fuel pump Module, and it just has a filter sock down on the bottom of the pump assembly.

Adding a filter out side will not solve your issue.
