Default 2005/06 1500 Series Brakes - Questions

Okay... It seems the 06 (and maybe 05?) ended up getting 14" front rotors and 2-piston calipers. Is this correct?

And why the heck is there drum brkaes in the rear?

Anyone have specs or more information?

GM got to mainy complaints on soft brakes. So they went back to drums in 2005 for better braking. I think there is a company or two out there that sell rear disc conversions, ask your friend google for more help...

They did get a nice big 14" rotor and good calipers! You can swap to disc in the rear. My thoughts.............. I think GM upgraded to nice brakes up front because they KNEW the rear drums sucked floppy donkey dicks.

That was the price the dealer parts cost, I did not pay for squat. The service manager just came out and gave me some **** about being a dick to the tech on the GM customer care line. I asked him how much GMC had to shell out and he showed me the cost of doing the work.

Alright man, let's hear it.
What was wrong with the brakes, and what was needed to fix them?
