Default 2003 Sierra: Cuts off around turns, hard stops

I've done a search to no avail, apologize in advance if this is a frequent question. It's a 4.8L.

This has happened 4-5 times over the past two months. Either around a moderately fast turn or a sudden stop, the engine will just turn off. It quickly restarts when I pop it into neutral and turn the key. Doesn't seem to happen every time, and I can't "make" it happen when I try.

Thanks for the help.

This happened to me a while back. Everytime i attempted a youturn my truck died (and i lost power steering..).

I cleaned my TB and intake filter and also upgraded my alternator.

However my issues were caused by the load of my audio system so this may not apply to you.

Have you noticed how much gas you have in the tank when this happens?

I rarely drive below 1/2 tank, and this hasn't occurred when I was anywhere near low on fuel.

I thought about cleaning my TB, but it makes little sense as to why the TB would cause it to kill only on turns or sudden stops. And no, I have no aftermarket audio or strains on the alternator.

Mine has done it too. My idle is a little low and the extra strain on the power steering pump at lock or the sudden drop in rpm from a quick stop just causes it to die. I'm not really sure why it does it but i guess the idle needs to be bumped a bit.

Sounds like that may be it. The idle dips just low enough for a second to kill it. Maybe I can get a tune to clean that up.

Thanks for the replies btw.

Our trucks have roll control that shuts the motor down if it thinks its going to roll
I have heard it happening to a few guys when they really slam on the brakes or doing donuts
