And one minor loss. I was coming home from work yesterday, and a truck just like mine flew by me on 45. At first let him go, then I decided to have a little fun. Truck looked bone stock so I didn't think anything. So I hammer it to catch up and we get into a little traffic and shuffle positions a bit, well, he gets a good WOT run on me from behind, me being ever cocky about my truck, wait til he get side by side with me and well my truck didn't downshift to 2nd, I was just about the downshift speed so he was able to get ahead of me and in the same lane as me. I was able to reel him in very quickly, and from a side by side roll, I wooped him pretty good, but that one really ticked me off.

Told you that one to lead into the next two. So, still dejected about getting run on by a stock(seemingly) truck, even though it really wasn't a true run, I decided to take my truck out last night to my little test track area. There's a little road just outside Alvin limits in the middle of nowhere. The only thing on it is a grain mill at the start of the road and then about 2 or 3 miles of nothin til it deadends. Perfect place for testing out my mods, and since I still not quite used to this cam yet, figured I get a few launches to prep for the track meet on the 24th. I feel like Flash stalling my truck with this cam produces the best results, at least that is my hypothesis so far.

Anyways, so I made a few test runs and was coming back into town and decided to get some gas. Well, low and behold I come across this Dodge Dakota ext cab that I have been wanting to run for a while. Seems we are always just passing in different directions. I pulled in behind him and he was loud, real loud. Noticed a set of Traction bars on the rear, and what appeared to be drag radials or a set of DOT Slicks on the back. Rolled my windows down and now noticed the hard camming sound and it wasn't coming from my truck. This dak was loud. I was now beginning to think that maybe I had bit off more than I could chew. Anyways, a little cat and mouse, then he goes off onto the turn lane, I was ticked but hey there was 2 mustang GT's sitting in the lane beside me, so I romped it, I was going to run somebody last night. So the GT runs me although he didn't try for long, I got a really good jump on him and he seemed to give up, well then I look in my rearview and the Dakota had pulled out of the turn lane in chase, so now it was on. He gave a quick pass, and we both got in the u-turn lane to go back the other direction. So we both got on the road after the u-turn and side by side from about a 10-15 MPH roll, jumped it, Well, I was worried no more. He got his A** cracked hard. We ran it up to about 75-80 and I had him by about 4 trucks. So I backed off and slowed waiting for him, figured we'd go again from a roll maybe about 40-45, he got beside me and I was still trying to slow it just a bit, well he jumped me, got about 1-1/2 trucks on me before I jumped and I just reeled him in very, very quickly, ran it up to about 120 and I had about 4 or 5 trucks on him. I was pretty pleased. I tried to give him a thumbs up and ask him what he was running, cause the truck really did sound pretty bada**. But he never would look my way. He tried to get me to run a few more times, some people just won't quit. We were in traffic by now, and I desperately needed gas, and I had already beaten him twice so I was happy.

I'd like to say that I could pull a 13.99, but I am expecting a 14.1 or somewhere thereabouts. If I get a good launch maybe better. Plus with the weather getting hotter......... Maybe in the winter I could pull a 13.99, but I still doubt it, its gonna be pretty close. I think I need a highers stall converter to pull 13's, and maybe some drag radials.
