Ok it was firday night down at the big town of Nobel, Oklahoma right next to OU. It was about 84-85 degrees and about 80% humidity or soemthing like that. I only got one run in (which I was also pissed about) and I didn't do anything to help my weight kept it just like I do on the street. Also running on the 20's. I ran a 16 flat at 85 mph. I had a 2.46 60'foot. the funny thing is I was racing a guy in a 94 LT1 camaro. I killed him all the way up to 1/8 and then he comes flying passed me. Found out later he had 100 shot and he finished the 1/4 in 13.8 at 110. Yeah I couldn't beleive it either 110 running a 13.8. So what is the deal with my times I thouoght the truck would be faster then that, as of now I am really pissed. Also I didn't have a probelm with traction. any help guys or what is the deal.

 

Well what motor do you have i ran a 16.0 stock in my truck and i have a 4.8 reg cab 2wd also and stock rims.

 

it has to be the weather. heat...my truck fell off it's time as well.

Thats weird it had to be the heat then, my cousin just got a 5.3 and it will beat my truck.

 

I've spanked a few 4.8 and one 5.3 I think the humidity killed me. Also the 20's weight me down and I lonly got to go once. If I could have gone again I know I could have atleast gotten in the 15's somewhere. I still couldn't beleive it was so humid here. Get this a couple black guys saw me run and they were like damn bling bling on that truck. they came over after the run and told me I need sand bags in the back. I was like are you shitting me, i didn't even break the tires loose. It was funny becasue I was the only truck running and I had a ton of people keep on coming over to talk about my truck,and how good it looks, but it's still slow.

 

That is pretty slow. I've seen a bone stock 02' with a tool, box hitch, and no weight mods run 14.7s at 91mph.

yeah not sure, I mean 16 at 85 mph is pretty weak. The 60 wasn't the best but not that bad. I really think the humidity killed me and also the first(and only run) I was at a full 210 degrees engine temp. I want to go back but not for a little while, it's actually really emabarrasing. would SAE correction be anydifferent.? I don't know what my sea level or anything is but I a in OKlahoma and everything is flat as can be here. I am jsut so irritated.

 

I was also hoping for better times with my new truck but I don't feel so bad now. Sorry you're disappointed!

i wouldnt be too irritated, after all, its basically stock, except that loud *** exhasut. and the 20" arent helping, its too humid, im sure thats all it was. by any chance was the lt1 next to you, red, did you talk to him any?
