Looking at swapping my 4.8 to a 6.0. what year of motor should I be looking for for the easiest swap? Any information on the swap would be greatly appreciated

Pickup a 01-06 6.0 and install all your old stuff off of the 4.8. Easy...

Is it really that easy? It will bolt right up to 4L60E? No computer work? Sorry so many questions I just can't believe its that simple

It will bolt up, but it does need a tune.

The 60e might not last very long though, 6.0 make alot more HP and torque.

So a tune and 80E.....not bad when you consider the price of blower and turbo setups. I can see myself going this route in the future, heck yards give these motors away. TY FFDP

If its tuned right and if you never had trouble before i've seen a few last awhile. I think the biggest thing depends on how hard you are on the truck. I have a stock 60e in mine with 219k miles and it still barks the tires in second with a TB Stall and a vet servo. Im running a cammed 2006 6.0 with a few bolt ons.
