Default $600 what now?

Ok I saved up for a while and i have about $600.00. What do you guys recommend? Now this is my daily driver and I dont want to get too crazy. So far I have shorty headers, cat-back exhaust, cai, mass airflow sensor. I know everyone will probably say custom tune but I want to beef up the transmission before I reduce/remove Torque-Managment. I was thinking shiftkit, servos and a sun shell. You guys think that would be enough to beef up the tranny?

Also I would be having a transmission shop doing the work for me because I dont have enough confidence in my mechanical abilities to do a shift kit.

You need the tune to take advantage of the MAF, otherwise you wasted money on it!

yeah I bought it before I found this website, same with the shorty headers. So now I feel like a dumba$$ for wasting the money, now that I have been reading through the forums. I still plan on getting a tune but I want to beef up the tranny so I can remove/reduce torque-managment.

I have not installed any mods to the tranny yet, and have a good tune with reduced TM and firmer shifting. I mayt do a kit or servos but not for now.

What size gears you have? Id say get gears (3.73, 3.90 or 4.10) and a posi. Then the shift kit and servo. Then get the custom tune. All of that will defanitely cost you more than $600 though

I'd go with a tune, shift kit, vette servo, and electric fans or underdrive pullies. It will be pretty close to $600, maybe just a tad bit more..

i say tune also. one, if you get a shift kit you will need to tune for it or your truck will shift like ****. you can always install the shift kit later and get a free update. two, you still will need to tune for gears because your speedo will be off causing you to shift to early or to late. three, you don't have to get an agressive tune to begin with. a lot of guys will probably leave 70-80% TM if they don't have a shift kit installed. and you will get better gas mileage as long as you don't put your foot in it all the time but i have heard of some people getting better gas mileage when they do.

put the MAF and shorties on ebay and get some money for them. you might get another $250+ for them and you can add that on top of the $600 you already have.

Stock I believe 3.23.

Also I should be finishing up my christmas shopping in the next couple of days, and it looks like I may have another $300-400 left from that. So now we're looking at ~$1000. But like I was saying as far as transmission work I'll be paying someone else to do it.

And I still plan on getting a Tune, I would rather just get it after I had all the shift kit and everything else installed. So my truck will be down for just a couple of days.

Weell..in my experience....your truck being down depends on where the tune comes from...I have 1 from Jesse at Wait4Me....it wont be down if you just buy 1 from him and keep your stocker....id rather have my stock 1 anyway..just in case...
