how the heck does boost under carb work? Wouldnt it just blow the air and fuel out of the carb into the airfilter since there is less restricition then into the engine? does this take a special carb?

That's a draw though setup (wet turbo), the air/fuel is pulled though the carb and into the inlet on the turbo, and then feed back into the adapter plate on the front which is separated in the adapter and is directed into the motor. That adapter is designed for twins, so with a single, you would have to block off one side.
