and i also dont understand the rpm part. will it raise my stock 6000 rpm higher.. or how.. when its tuned they mess around with the computer and raise it. if so how high would my rpm go

thats still to much cam for you!!! i ran that in my 6.0..that cam needs compressoin. most run it in the 5.7

for you with your 4.8 your limit is around 224!!!!

yea the absolute most i would go is a 224 and then power wont come on till 3500-4000

a tr220 would be great or a comp 212/218

Wow ... even by my standards, that's WAY to much cam for a 4.8. I ran a 233/239 in a stock headed 5.3 as a DD. It was fine once it was tuned, but it took a while to get there. I would do it again, but I would prefer to have some better heads and a couple other little odds and ends.

I'd say stick with something like a 224/224 112 or something similar to that. Even with a stock converter, that cam will be fine, most will disagree, but of course, that's them and not me. You're not going to really 'loose' low end with something that size, the mid and upper is going to be exponentially better than before which will make the low end seem lacking. To each their own though.

BTW .. it sounded REALLY nasty for a lowly 5.3. I got all kinds of stares going through a parking lot or just sitting there idling for that matter.

but im about to put on my ls1 heads and have been told that it will raise my compression .. would that still b good.. if i use that cam
