for you with your 4.8 your limit is around 224!!!!

Wow ... even by my standards, that's WAY to much cam for a 4.8. I ran a 233/239 in a stock headed 5.3 as a DD. It was fine once it was tuned, but it took a while to get there. I would do it again, but I would prefer to have some better heads and a couple other little odds and ends.
I'd say stick with something like a 224/224 112 or something similar to that. Even with a stock converter, that cam will be fine, most will disagree, but of course, that's them and not me. You're not going to really 'loose' low end with something that size, the mid and upper is going to be exponentially better than before which will make the low end seem lacking. To each their own though.
