Default Will GM reflash ECM?

I posted a few days ago about my instrument cluster going dead.
Its not the fuse.

When I take it in to GM..will they do a up-date on my ECM with out telling me?
Is it standard procedure for them to do this?

I have a nelson tune, and yes I know he would replace it if the dealer got rid of it..

If I tell them I have a ECM tune...will they tell me it voids my warrenty and not replace the instrument cluster under warrenty?

..anyone with any experience with this happening?

allen has your tune saved on a file somewhere. i wouldnt say anything about the tune because they will try and worm their way out of anything if they can, i dont think they would need to touch the pcm anyways, but just to stay on the safe side.

Why don't you have Allen send you another PCM?

I'm not clear on what the problem is - do you have a bad PCM, a bad cluster, or both?

If there was a TSB or an update available for the PCM they might have reflashed it. I dont think that would cause your cluster to go out.... Have you had the cluster out for any reason?

Has not been to the dealer yet. Cluster just quit. I just thought it may be normal for them to update the ECM anytime any work is done...

It's fairly normal for them to plug in, yes, and chances are good they would flash for some dumb ****.....

I kept my stock ecm and swap them whenever I have to take the truck in. Takes 5 minutes and they can flash to their hearts' content !!!!!

Find someone with HPtuner and have them save your tune. Then if they do flash it you could restore it.

they will only have to update the cluster when it gets replaced just like the radios on 03+trucks 02-99 are plug and play no other programming needed. i did the radio in my 04 didnt affect the tune at all

The only way they can tell if your pcm has been tuned is if the vin numbers dont match up I had a mail order and the vin was wrong, most service techs wont ketch that though. But if we learned anything from Bill Clinton its deny deny deny just act stupid if they start asking questions the less you say the better. If its under warranty just go in and tell em its broken and fix it thats it.
