Default wierd cylinder heads off 80-84 truck engine

I Took these off a 350ci SBC that was in my 67 camaro when I bought it years ago. Never could completely identifty the motor they came off ot. I ran all the numbers on block and the most info I could get was that its from a 1980 to 1984 fullsize truck.

these look like anything good? I'm trying to decide if they are worth keeping or if I should just junk them. I have edelbrock performer rpm heads on the engine now and don't really see myself using these heads on anything I own at the moment.

I threw away 4 sets of those heads this year. An after market casting is light years ahead of those.

The easiest way to identify the heads is by the casting number. Generally the last 3 digits is what everyone refers to. Those are likely 882 castings. Regardless they are nothing special but probably a good head for a rebuilder.

You can identify a lightweight casting by the notches between the lower bolt holes, common with the 80's vintage smog heads. Early heads were straight across the lower bolt holes... an easy identifier when looknig at an engine with the valve covers on.

Those are 305 heads. You can tell by the little up right horseshoe on the end of the head, the thickness of the material between the combustion chambers and the smaller ( 1.84 ) intake valves.
Some people install these on 350 engines to raise the compresion ratio. You can verify with the casting numbers.

I used to run the double hump 461's (no accessory holes) on my 355. A lot of my friends ran the 186's ( I think) which was a 300 horse head w/ bolt holes. Been a while for me on sbc lingo..
