Default Why do so many people dislike Flowmaster?

Why do so many people dislike Flowmaster? I have em and I like it. I have to admit it does sound pretty damn good. I can stand 200 feet away and still hear it idling. I haven't done any dynos so is it the diff. in hp/tq compared to other exhaust setups? Just curious. As always your input is always welcome.

love my delta flows. can set off car alarms with the rumble and talk in normal voice at highway speeds. all with a v8 sblazer with supercomp full length headers and cross over pipe. entire exhaust is just over 4 foot long dumping in front of axle.

most people dislike them because there is more performance to be had with other mufflers. no one that i know of dislikes them because of the sounds. i have flowmaster but will switch to magnaflow when ever i can.

I had dual exhaust with no muffler and it sounds good at idle or reving it up, but when accelerating it just sound like air rushing out. Now ive got a 40 series single/dual with split side exit. I like it ALOT more. Good cruising tone and I like how at certain rpms like around 45or 55mph it has a good loud sound for getting peole to turn and look. Now to just get my headers on and turn it into true dual like I want.

I had an 04 SS come into work the other day that had a dual/dual Flowmaster. It was definatly bigger than my 40 series. It sounded louder than mine and I thought that the 40 series were the loudest. I wrote the part # off the muffler but cant remember it.

I think they are over rated ... they put to much into sound than they do performance.
