How can you have such a strong engine (the LS1), cost so much ($23-$30k), yet run such crappy 1/4 miles times? I figured the 30k LS1 trucks should at least run high 13s/low 14s stock...

Aww, $hit! The Sonoma has turned him into a monster.

I think the trucks run what they do because they don't weigh 3300#'s

Technically, they don't have LS1's either.

I thought the 4.8/5.3 were mini LS1's and the 6.0 was a monster LS1?

It's kinda funny to me that everyone rips on my Sonoma yet the other GMC trucks are all POS.

i would like to see a ford or dodge truck try to beat us. ford had to put a supercharger on their truck to beat us. put that same type of stuff in our trucks and see who wins.

There is a breakdown of the designations for each discplacement somewhere in this forum. Its in the post where I got corrected for calling a 5.3 a LS1.

Terry,

How dumb can you get?

Stock LS1, 5.7, 346 ci, 300rwhp, ~3700# = mid 13's stock

Stock reg cab truck, 5.3, 325 ci, 250rwhp, ~4500# = low 15's

Lets not forget areodynamics, spinning wheels, extended cabs, 4x4's, and whatever else I can think of.

Get the facts. Oh yea, you are an expert, you got a Sonoma that runs 10.5 or something in the 1/8.

My stock $12k Sonoma runs mid 16s. The stock $23-30k GMC trucks are running mid-high 15s. The "bolt on" LS1 trucks are running high 14s-low 15s. Its pretty pathetic in my book. I challenge you to find someone that thinks 15.74@81 is quick for a stock LS1 powered truck. I bet there are plenty of them running 16s too…
