Default Who's runing XR265HR in there Truck?

Want to here from those who installed the Comp Cams XR265HR #54-412-11 that specs at:
212 218 .522 .529 114°

Would like to hear your thoughts.
How it responds VS. Stock???
Change in Gas Milage???
What other mods You have done to support the cam swap???

Im in Sothern California So I have to pass the sniffer.

I have a 5.3L That I am rebulding right now. Nothing special But I am looking to put a set Of WCCH Stage 1 Heads on it. Basically I would like to pick up power and tourque all Across the board. Hoping not to lose to much on the gas milage end too...

Truck Is Stock 2000 C1500 ECSB 5.3L My DD
trans Rebuild/Popular Upgrades coming before install. Also going to go through the rear end Too...

Looking at adding 2500 Stall converter and swaping from 3.42 to 3.73 with a Posi.

Thanks

I have the same cam but in the high lift version. Didn't see any lose in mpg, and over stock its night and day difference. Have full bolt's,except underdrive pulley. Also have a tb stall.

Awsome!!! did you get a custom tune or a mail order tune to reap the full rewards of the swap?

I have one up. the XR 269HR. It's a lot stronger than stock and I haven't even re-tuned for it yet. mileage is a lil worse but only because it's running rich now. pulls real hard 60-90 even without the tune.

I have that cam, I saw an increase in economy. I thinks it's good cam it revs hard in my motor up to 6100. I wish I would have gone bigger but I think that about every mod once their installed. I bought it used and the price was right.

Thumbs up

Glad you like it. I don't see much need to spin the motor past 6K on my DD wich is one of many reason why I think that cam might work out the best for what I am looking for.
