what muffler are you using and how does it sound?

Im thinking of buying a 4" dynomax over axle pipe with dynomax 3.5" rv muffler.

I am, and quite a few others are as well. Most of them are turbo's though, and they are a bit quieter.

Mine is VERY loud. It's an AFE kit. I'm considering an MBRP muffler, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I have an exhaust thread on here somewhere.

yeah, turbos quiet them down. Is the AFE muffler like a magnaflow or ultraflo?

The muffler Im thinking of using is 7" round and 31" long. I dont think it will be too loud with stock 4.8L without cats. My concern is highway drone, which is the reason for changing the exhaust.

This one is 7" round, the case is either 24 or 28" long, the whole thing is 30 or 32" long. It's straight through, perforated, & packed. It droans, big-time, on the highway, with catless pipes on my 5.3, mild cam, cruising out of boost.

Also, take a look at this thread. I'm going to give the MBRP that's shown in this thread a shot. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...as-one-489352/

thanx for the links. I enjoyed the videos. Especially rolling burnout. too bad you had to lift

You guys got me scared about the drone. Can it be any worse than flows dumped at the axle?
