Actually, a ECSB 4wd 2500HD is right at 6000lbs give or take, not 7K.

2001c3 - What sorta mileage do you get now? It will probably go down a little bit just because the 6.0L is bigger and has more power. The nice thing is that "extra power" part though The first time I drove my truck with the 6.0L/4.10 I was like WOW after having a 5.3L/3.42 combo before.

Oops, my appologies, The 7k was for a CCLB not an ecsb. Big difference. Although I did find a couple guys who were pushing 6200+ with a stock 2500hd.

That CCLB is probably a diesel, they are freakin beast.

I think my dad's '99 2500HD ECLB 4wd 6.0L was like 6100lbs on the scales with no one in it. That was with a camper shell also.

Weight like you mention no doubt plays a role in the gas mileage most 6.0L trucks get since they are mainly in 2500+ stuff.

P.S.---- is there enough meat on the 6.0 block to hog it out to like 6.2?

Just boring it only you can go to about 4.06"(might want to have the bores checked before doing this) on the 6.0L iron block. That with the stock stroke would put you around 6.14L or so.

19+ mpg is nice.
