couple of things worng with the first post, 1. you cant bore the 5.3 to a 6.0, 5.7 is the max bore wise. 2. the aluminum aluminum 6.0 would have to be the ls2 block and its a gen4 block and there are a few things that are different about those.

yea you can if you stroke it my 5.3 is going to be 405 cid

THis is getting to be a bigger can or worms than it's worth. I'm just gonna punch out the block to 5.7 and run with that.........

No it's actually pretty easy. It's just the examples you listed are not worth it.

Buy a lq4 or lq9 out of a truck or SUV that came with it from the factory. If you find a good deal you could spend as little as $800 or so. After that the engines are a direct swap with the only real issue being that you need a new tune.

you don't even have to swap the entire engine over . . . all you need is a long block. Everything else swaps over.

Y'know- what I'm really yearning for is that classice low end snap as affoded by the iron- headed LT-1 from the '96 Impala SS.............

6.0 it is, then. Guss I'll keep my eyes peeled around the area, thanks. BTW, what cam will provide that off- the line, wtoplight to stoplight snap..................
