Whipple install gone bad

ouch just heard about this from 18AHEMI... they just went ahead and bought a 2001 6.0 lq4. I know the guy he has a hypertech, I just hope they thought about pulling the hypertech tuning before they ran it...
we have it apart there is a whole in one of the pistons and the oil... well lets just say it's up in places where it's not suppose to be... 5.3 R.I.P

Yeah like BlueSS said there was a hole on the opposite head that the oil leak was coming from. The third piston on the driver side from front to back is the one that went out, and the leak from the head gasket was coming from the passenger side. When the head was pulled off the gasket was fine so the heads were "warped" maybe. I got pics of it all so I will post up asap.
On another note my cousin just told me during the trial run he had regular unleaded in there. The hypertech tuning was pulled off.
I THINK HE JUST WANTED AN EXCUSE TO GIVE HIS WIFE BECAUSE THE 6.0 LQ4 WAS IN THE PLANS FOR A WHILE!!HOPEFULLY THE NEW MOTOR IS IN BY THIS WEEKEND. ANYBODY NEED PARTS FROM A 5.3?

This kind of reminds me of a guy that goes by the forum name "BadBurban" aka "AJ."
He, too, seems bent on punishing himself!

I forgot to say in my earlier post, it seems as though the GM MLS head gaskets are the best to use. That's a little late now that you don't need them, but I just wanted to get that out. Cometics do make gaskets for these motors, and they are good gaskets but have been known to leak a little bit from time to time.
I figured a blown gasket would have been 'to easy' to fix on that one. At least there's a positive thing that ame of all this. Just be sure to fix all the problem areas before the next motor gets up and running.
Just to recap, get an inline fuel pump at the least! Tuning is a must, no putting that off either. Go easy on the boost until you're sure it's ok to run.
