Just picked up some ported 5.3 heads with PRC 660lift springs, ferrea 2.02 intake and 1.57 exh valves, titanium retainers, multi angle valve job.. milled .030/ now have a 58cc combustion chamber. I'm going to cam down the road, is there anything I should change while I have the heads off? I planned on pushrods ,what length?Any other weak points? I'm basically wanting to have it where I get a cam and injectors an can
., also any imput about having to possibly flycut with these heads is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the input.

I'm gona be na for awhile the truck in sig. Would like it to run low 12s high 11s. I want the cam on a 111 or 110 lsa for lope! would like to have a good mid to upper range cam to match my 4k stall. Only want to spin it to 6k maybe 6200 just staying on the safe side since it is my dd also for tht reason I don't need a huge cam to murder my mpgs tht already suffer lol. I'm doing it a little along so it doesn't hurt my pocket to bad. Thanks.

would like it to run low 12s high 11s. dont need a huge cam to murder your mpgs and some that doesnt hurt your pocket too bad are key phrases here.
4l80 slows you down a bit but shouldnt keep you from running low 12s at least with the lq9, 228r cam, tbss intake, 4000 stall you already have and heads you just bought. > cheaper to go with what you already have. --- with 228r cam, assuming 112 shouldnt need to flycut at all. on 110 or 111 may effect ptv clearance. rpm shift point would be best at 6400 still very safe as long as below 6500 imo. some folks will tell you more will be okay and it will for awhile??? --- 4000 stall will murder your mpgs more than the 228 cam or bigger cam. --- as for gaskets, just get oem 51 mls gaskets. as for headbolts, oem or better arp head bolts. --- similar combo to regency's, check out on dyno section, 5.7 with 228 cam, 388 on superflo dyno at nelson but runs 11.93s...you got a good combo going man.
good luck, rob

Thanks rob. I don't have the 228 yet thts why I was asking for suggestions about a cam...I'm probly swapping the heads an tbss intake on next week, thats why im trying to find gasket an headbolts . Spinning to 6500 will be ok with stock internals?

228 is a good cam and wanna say i saw one on here or ls1tech for a real good price and also a vrx4 228-230 but that one may be sold. spinning to 6500 will be okay. after that is not really too good for a daily driver. power under the curve is better and more fun for daily drivers.

None of your choices make sense for your goals. You want to run low 12s and 11s but dont want to go over 6200 rpms, you want a big cam but dont want to kill your mpg but you have a 4000 stall already.
PLENTY of people spin theirs to 6700-6900.
With a 4k stall, youll want a decent size cam to take advantage of the mid-high rpm band power.
Keeping your foot out of the throttle will be the best thing for mileage.
You can also set up your tune to shift at 6/6200 for the street/daily use, but shift at 6700 or so at the track.

which ever cam you get you are going to have to check for PTV clearance. Also bigger the cam you get, the higher the peak HP is going to be.
just because your shift point is set for 6800 doesn't mean you have to hit it daily driving. Just keep your foot out of it and you'll be fine.
