derek@edo who hasnt been on here lately used to run a tr224 cam on a regular cab lq4 with tbss intake, ss3600 and 3.90 trutrac and ran a 12.33 at 109. he stated a 226 cam would be nice and an ss4000 would have been perfect.
dlt___ cant remember numbers after dlt ran an lq4 with a tsp224 low lift cam, 3600 stall and 4.10 gears ran 12.40 at 108.
these guys were shifting at around 6400 with these so called baby cams and ran better times than most with bigger cams spinning to 67-6800 rpm. some folks get greedy and overcam.
i modeled my build after derek and got an lq4 except with with 243 heads, same tbss intake, same tr224 cam, lesser vig 3200 stall, and lesser 3.73s and have put bigger cammed trucks that ran high 12s to shame. its all about power under the curve with heavy street driven trucks. i am about to upgrade cam slightly but very sure it will run still better than what it already does. i got a sound clip of my tr224 with open exhaust on my cell phone if you wanna hear for just comparison. pm me your number if you wanna hear it. rob

i just forwarded you some considered mild combos that kicked *** compared to bigger cammed combos you have seen or will see on here...
