When they fall sliding in my cam and the last sob decided to fall on me. Don't they fall into the oilpan ? If so can I just leave it there and throw another one in there ? I'ts just not my day

Yes, you can drop the pan without having to pull the motor.

If they went all the way to the bottom of the pan, I wouldnt worry too much, but theses motors have a windage tray which most likely caught 'em. Yes, the pan will come off a 2wd reg cab with the motor in, not sure about other body styles. Your luck sux as bad as mine.

Youre telling me about bad luck I have been waiting on parts and other goodies from a local shop that took a month. I got sick of waitng for my custom grind cam and just bought a used one. I have another shop that I've been waiting on some nitrous parts for well over 8 months . I guess I can try to get the lifter out now I get to pull the head off and all that good stuff. It's going to be a long night I hope it works out.

I did that once
I bought a long magnet and fished the lifter out from the pan.
Worked for me
Beats removing the oil pan

Maybe try changing the oil? You'll be surprised what may come out:

Been there done that. I had to remove the front axle to get my oil pan off.
