Default When to swap out lifters?

When would we need to swap out lifters?
Mileage? Cam Swap?

What are the benefits of the Pro Magnum Hydraulic Roller Lifters "Comp R"?

Any others options for lifters?

Thanks

I doubt you'll see enough if any difference in performance by changing just lifters to justify the cost.I've never heard of any durability with the stock lifters.I would'nt even consider adding them unless I allready had the motor torn down.

Thats the point, I got a spare motor in the garage and want to do everything now. I haven't heard about any lifter issues, but I haven't heard if they wear. The stock lifters are fresh, about 1K miles but I was also wondering if the aftermarket units offered any improvement.

I would guess not. Good.

If you stick a cam in .. I would do lifters then. I would go with a roller hydraulic lifter for sure.

Are the lifters in our trucks already roller or flat tappet style?

Our trucks come with hydraulic roller lifters. If I were building a new motor I would consider running the Compcams lifters and rockerarms with one of their cams.Be sure to check their installation specs I think the Compcam lifters use a different preload than stock. Are you building a 6.0 block or what?

the comp cams lifters are a SAME AS STOCK replacment....they just offer "better" quaility and maybe a better material. i'll use'em in my 370 only because i don't want to take any chances while spinning to 6800+

I'm puuting together an LQ9. Trying to get 10.5:1 CR, a 112LSA cam, P&P heads. I want to try and do all of the upgrading now while I have the motor on a stand.

Well ya if you are doing a full build get some new roller lifters, they are cheap insurance.

What's the difference between the comp stock replacement lifters and the "Comp R" lifters.
