My attitude is: if they want it they'll get it. Plus if they can't steal it you're going to wish they did with the amount of damage and vandalism they'll do to it! Or they'll wait for you to get in, and car jack your ***. If they want it they'll get it. Bottom line! Like Blown said, I'll just build a faster and better one. Either way its the same deductable.

Exactly why I have just the factory Alarm, On-star (which I really got for the phone and roadside assistance), full coverage and GAP insurance. I figure if it gets stolen, I am in a newer one that much sooner. I don't rely on anything to keep it from being stolen but I sure as hell want to make sure it gets replaced, if they can catch the jerk by tracking him then that's just a bonus.

I guess the big question is how much of your add-ons will your insurance cover? Did you guys walk into the insurance company and tell them you put a 408 stroker with a supercharger on your truck? I need to add another 20 g's of insurance? Not gap to cover the diff between what you owe and what its worth... But add on's! I know wheels and a stereo is probably not that big of a deal with documentation but the hi-performance stuff..

Mine covers "customization" in the form of increased premium per $1K, based on value of added accessories. I don't know the details, but I know they don't have any specific info about what the customization is exactly, I have $5K extra insurance and they have pictures of the truck. They also let me specify the value of my boat, the premium is based on what I wanted as coverage. It's actually insured for more than I paid for it.

[QUOTE=Flipper]You post pics of your truck on the internet, in the pics you show a side view of your truck, showing off the 3-4 grand worth of tires and rims... You show a pic with your hood open showing off your supercharger, another 4-6 grand.... Dont forget the pics of that bitching stereo with DVD and screens.. In the view from the rear side you show your license plate.
So now any thief signed up on the internet on one of the many sites that you can check registrations or any thief that has a buddy working for AAA or a buddy that is in law enforcement, can now get your address & VIN, and if he has someone at a dealership a key!
How simple did you make that?[QUOTE]
Gee thanks Flipper, now I am going to be paranoid I never even thought about that. I had always wondered why people blacked out there plates.
