Default What size pipe after the headers?

I just put some OBX LT's on my 5.3 CrewCab. I have a 11" case magnaflow on it now with 2 1/2" pipe coming out of it dumped right before my rear bumper and the factory pipe from my header flange to the muffler. Should I run a 3" pipe out the back? When I am at full throttle and it goes to shift into the next gear it makes this popping glasspack sound. Is it too much pressure for a 2 1/2" pipe. I am just throwing some stuff out there, so help me out here. I am probably going to put a 18" magnaflow on it to calm some of the drone down. So what yall think?

Go 3" to the muffler and change out the 11" muffler to a 18" case muffler. That should solve some of the problem. The other problem might be that its taking a little bit too much time to shift and causing that a little bit as well.

the popping is either the tq management or running rich. get it tuned and it'll clear up. When i put my Lt's and 3" mine would make that noise so loud i thought it was gonna blow the valves. Added some more pipe to get it back to the rearend and had DozerDan tune it and it has been great since.

I have the torque management tuned out already and the exhaust is out turned down right before the rear bumper.

A pop is usually a lean condition. A rich condition would cause a bog.

Yeah I still need to tune it. I will try to do the tune either today or tomorrow and we will see how it sounds then. I just notice how most catbacks are 3" and was wondering if it would be better to run 3".

Mine was running rich (unless my memory is on the fritz). He means only when it shifts not during the entire time. I'm sure a popping would be consistent if it was lean.
When you give it alot of throttle it would make a horrible pop/crackle during shifts that sounds like your valves are about to explode. I was worried about it when mine did it.

Regardless. a tune should clear it right up.

I got it half way tuned yesterday and its running better and sounds better. I have a 18" magnaflow coming in this week that I am going to put in place of the 11" to mellow out the sound and drone some. Performance is great.
