vinci trucker 216/224 with 3-3200 stall...more street dd friendly
tr220 with a 9.5 or 10 inch 34-3600 stall..more track oriented setup but still very DD
Would be my choices.

I tend to agree with this. Everyone has different standards when it comes to drivability. I wouldnt go 224... a bit much for my tastes. Even the 220 has a healthy chop. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE chop, but you feel all of that when youre idling or sitting in traffic.

Do you do any towing etc? How do you use the truck?

i had a vinci trucker in my 5.3 with a yank 3000 and loved it very dd fiendly and performed very well performance wise

Not really, every once and a while I will move some light stuff around but nothing over 500 lbs. I just want to have a fun truck to drive and take it to the track now and then maybe try and hit high 12's low 13's later with more mods somewhere around there.

my set up in a single cab should run 12's with smaller tires. and gears.

I had prc 2.5 5.3 heads with 58cc and 223/230 .605/.610 114 Sst3600 stall 4.11 gears in a rcsb 2wd got me to 12.94 on street tire with a shitty 1.97 60ft
