Ken from Carputing posted this on the ls1edit list

I have found that No one adapter works with all Laptops and OS. Would be
interesting to know the OS and Laptop that the USB adapter works with.
We have found the Belkin F5U103 USB to RS232 adapter to be a good one,
But not for every laptop.

Ken
I'm with parish, get the pcmcia card.

what are you running? my wideband works fine every time with a usb-serial, atap works but sometimes i have to plug stuff in and unplug it to get it to work. edit did work a few times but it was a pain everytime, then eventualy it stoped working completly, now i can't read or program my pcm at all and neither can the dealer. now i have to send all my stuff to carputing and my truck will be down for a week. i have tried 3 diferent brands including the edgeport from b&b.
