I just snagged a 5.3 of e-bay for $700. Came complete w/all front accessories, complete wiring harness and pcm.....non of which I really needed, but the price was right. 6.0's are generally about a grand more from what I've seen.

I'd say if you're gonna do it, and you don't want to spend alot, but want decent power.... a 5.3 is the way to go!

your going at this back asswords. you want a 4.8 with a turbo because youve seen good numbers, but you dont want a 6.0 because of the power? you make my head hurt. a 6.0 swap is not much more expensive than a 5.3 swap, and it will be alot easier/cheaper than a 4.8 turbo.

if you can't find one in houston that much you must not have any friends or something....

I think houston and the RGV area are the absolute easiest places to find truck parts for cheap.

well i was generally speaking on putting in a 4.8 with the full bolt ons for now since its cheaper. Then way later down the road when i have the money to spend i could throw something on it to get some more power not doing this all at once.

Yenkonoma what seller did u get the 5.3 from was that 700 shipped?

Ok, so why would you do a 4.8 with "bolt ons" (I hate that phrase since everything you can every do requires you to bolt it on) end rant, when you can do a stock 6.0 and have more power and spend less money than with buying your "bolt ons". Then do every thing you want down the road. Not trying to be a dick just trying to get you to see the light.
