What is needed to make the 14's?

He said no stall and no gears. Get a nelson tune the lt's full exhaust without a flowmaster, intake, shorter tires, and a posi if you dont have one that she be more than enough for high 14's. The cam with some tuning should drop you into the mid 14's to low 14's. If you do decide to get the tb stall it stalls at about 2600rpm instead of the factory 1700ish you keep the tow rating and gs mileage its a good mod for around 300 bucks but you do have to pull the tranny. If you do the stall put the transgo hd-2 shift kit and a vette servo in and nelson can take all the torque management out of the copmuter and it will make your truck run good. The shift kit will also make your tranny last longer when towing too.

hate to break it to him, but a stall is going to get that thing off the line better than anything else you can buy..
even long tubes are not going to drop your times as much as the verter will
specially since it is a 4.8L..
the 2800 vig that I have can and will tow a vehicle on a 16' trailer.. done it.. and it didnt over heat the trans or cause any problems..
as far as the gears go.. 3.73's are not going to change his gas mileage hardly at all, if any.. since he is rolling on 3.42's..

makes it harder to since he has a 4.8L

with the setup I mentioned earlier.. I was running mid 14's on stock internals..
stock cam.
only mods where a K&N air filter,
3.73 gears,
2800 stall
Eaton posi
28 inch tall, tires
and true duals through edelbrock shorties.
