I don't get it either. The TR220-112 is a beast in my 5.3L Tahoe with a 3K-3200 stall. I'm not sure why a 6.0L Tahoe wouldn't run fine with a slightly bigger cam like the TR224-112, all else equal.

tr224 is as big as you want to go and will work great with your stall. any bigger, it would be a dog. any smaller, you eventually will end up with a 224 so might as well make the expense one time and save in the long run. the 24 wheels really slow you down and affect mileage so power gains are limited. good luck with your project, rob.

A 112 will give you a choppier idle than a 114. Lobe separation determines where peak tq is and how broad it is, thus a wider lobe separation will have a broader power band and build power throughout the RPMs, where a tighter lobe separation will build power quickly, but fall of more quickly too.

Go with a 112 and have the advance it atleast 2 degrees, 4 if you can. that will help the power come in a little sooner.

What about something like a 222/224 on a 112 ? I'm fixing to swap my tr220 for a 224..but I only have a 5.3. I would run somthing around 222-226 duration

Actually he's talking about advance that's ground into the cam, this can be determined by comparing the ICL to the LSA...LSA-ICL=* of advance ground in (114 LSA - 110 ICL = 4* of advance ground in). ICL=Intake Center Line
