Default Any body got?

Does any body have a LS block with the timing damper holes tapped? I need some measurements off of 1. I need to know how far up from the main cap break, and if they are centered on the crank centerline. My 5.3 isn't drilled. Thanks Jay

The Gen III truck motors weren’t drilled and tapped for a dampener, only the Gen IV’s were. While I don’t know what the differences are, I would be a little bit careful on what you were to take the measurements from. The reason I say that is now that the LS6 dampener (part # 88958607) is no longer available, you can only get the dampener for the LS2 (part # 12588670), which GM say’s will not interchange. I don’t know if they changed the bolt spacing or what, but it may be something you would want to look into before drilling and taping your block, unless you can get someone to give you the measurements from their LS2 or you can locate one of the discontinued LS6 parts.

Right I have both a LS2 and a LS3 damper here. The 3 damper looks to be the most effective. I would like to have some GM measurements to base my own off of. The damper only fits the block in one place, and has a half circle shape to clear the main bearing, I just need to know about offset from the crank/cam centerline.
