Default what heads do i have

what heads came on a 2002 5.3 silverado? and would 241s be a step up? my truck has bolt ons and hopefully soon it will have a 2002 ls6 cam and yellow valve springs and was thinking about doing a head swap (with a little machine work) at the same time.

check the back of head if you can, if there 706 castings i would get them polished and ported, i gotten some from patriot (stage 2's ) and theyre a nice set of heads for a 5.. why an ls6 cam? i'd find a 220 cam to throw in there..those springs would work perfect.. if not mistaken using a set of 6.0 heads (243) you would need to have them milled..

6.0 heads are 317's . Ls6's are the 243's. Have them P&P and milled for a nice hp, comp bump.

you can get a set of 243's of any LS2, they might be easier to find than the LS6 243's.

as they have different valves. same flow tho...
