Hey guys i need some help here in choosing a good shock for the rear of my ride. It's dropped 2/4 with a djm kit..running toxic shocks. The problem is,the rear is so stiff that i'm not getting any weight transfer...i'm thinking this will suck for traction when racing..so what would be a good shock that rides decent and will help the truck hook??

Expensive, but I have no complaints on the Bilstiens I have with the Hotchkis springs. The rear hunkers down pretty good and the shocks are balanced well, not to stiff/soft.
You could try the HAL 12 pt adjustables or I also heard, believe it or not the cheap sensatracs are good for wieght transfer and a moderate ride.
Although I had toxics on my bagged 4-link S-10 and it Handled awesome. If you have decent power and good tires I don't think it makes a big differance.

hey ran walk,,,
here is the scoop,,,in the rear of a "drag" vehicle you actually want a stiff shock. this is why,,,old time racers would use a blown out shock with a 1/16 hole drilled in it,,and a heavy duty "truck" type shock in the rear,,the thinking is the basically usless shock would pass tech for just being there,,it allowed the front of the vehicle to come up (weight transfer) and the back end to be able to push the tires down forcing them to hook,,as opposed to a week shock in the rear allowing the rearend to come up into the wheel well,,basically coming away from the ground instead of being forced against it. now adays there is multi valved shocks,,like a 90/10 shock in front,,and a 10/90 in the rear,,,,,if you dont believe me,,or want more info,,check out phrases like,,"anti-squat",,or "lift" for the rear of a vehicle.,,,,this is the whole idea with traction bars and cal trac bars,,they use force to push the tires into the ground,,not let it come up into the wheelwell/away from the ground,,check out the older dodge cars,,they actually had pinion snubbers set 1/4 inch away from it so it would stop the nose of the pumpkin from coming up, thereby forcing the tires to the ground. just my .02,,,,,check it out for yourself,,good sites ar,,caltrac,,,or just ask around,,i know,,,when the back of a vehicle "squats" and launches,it lookes cool,,but thats actually opposite of what you want in a race.,,,later

Also Rancho 9000 (i think that is the #) adjustable shocks are really good from what I have heard/read.
