Default What was decided about Suburban brakes on a Silverado

I have an 05 Silverado and I remember reading that the Suburban had 2 piston rear calipers. I was wondering if anyone did the swap. My truck has rear drums and I was thinking about seeing if I could get a rear from the junk yard and take the brakes off and put them on my Silverado.

Im not 100% sure but isnt there 4 bolts that hold on the backing plate and couldnt you just swap them? I know that on my disk brake rear end, it has 4 bolts on it.

How does it stop compaired to stock? I will likely go to get the caliper brackets from the dealer. I am sure they don't cost that much and then pick up some calipers from the junkyard and use them as a core. What year did you get your brakes off of.

Think it came off a 2002.. The rotors are almost 1/2 thicker.. It doesnt have brake fade as much when doing alot of long hard stops... Other than that it feels the same. I dont do any towing so I couldnt tell you if it helped out there..

I looked into it but never did it. I couldn't get any difinitive information on what all it took, and if it was even worth it or not.

I just did SS lines and Brembo cross-drilled rotors.
