Default What converter size?

I know more cubic inches means less converter but I decided to register my truck where there's no smog I'm going with a 427 4.125 x bore 4.00 stroke 10:2:1 compression and a 226/234 cam on a 113 it's an 02 2500hd 4x4 with 35s and a 4l80e built up I'll be switching to 4.56 gears later I was thinking a 2600 stall but not sure don't want to lose all my towing ability either away

A stock JBMX converter will stall higher behind that motor than in my stock 5.3 or stock 6.2 which stalls higher than mine. I'd leave the stall speed alone and use the latest Sonnax parts.

Man with that torque and that weight you may not need anything to tow with. I'm not an expert 4l80 verts and not familiar with the above but my stock 2500 stalled at 2k as I recall with NOTHING and 4.10's.

So I should leave the stock stall in it? It has a nice precision converted in it at the moment

Yep, if yours were mine I would. What parts from Precision are in it and which Precision?

I wish I could remember but it's rated for higher hp how come bigger cubic inch motors require less stall with big cams? Wouldn't a 226/234 need a 3200 or so in a 5.7?

With the 4.56 gears in mind you would be fine with the stock stall. Big cubic inches eat up cam durations so they dont need as much converter to get into the powerband. Smaller engines with bigger cams take a lot more converter.

I bet I could even do the stock converter on 4.10s if I wanted to
