Told you that I would check back in after going to the strip. So after changing my points to 6,000 RPM's and delaying the lock up from coming in, these are the new times as of tonight. Two best times out of 12 passes were as follows:

R/T .116 .248
60' 2.251 2.293
330 6.211 6.259
1/8 9.560 9.609
MPH 73.56 73.67
1000 12.422 12.474
1/4 14.840 14.893
MPH 92.35 92.49

Most of the other runs were 15.0, with the first run being a good one at 14.960@91.96MPH. Did try some different things like deep staging, which most of the 15.0 times came, and then just normal staging, got the best time with normal staging by the way. Tryed to manually shift trans, but for some reason it bogged down out of the hole in first gear, so after trying twice, gave up on that effort.

As a side note, talked a buddy into taking his Hemi Ram to the track also, the best he could muster up was a 15.370@88.55MPH. His was a Quad Cab, with a 3.92 rear end. It was a fun time, saw a Ram SRT/10 put down a 13.4 time, he was all over the place out of the hole. Know that there is room to improve on my truck, as I have not even touched the power enrichment section yet. So will try some new things for the next time I go to the track. Hope that this has helped some others on this site, and thanks to all that have posted here. It has been a great thread.

glad to see you're getting somewhere. i think you still have a few tenths in there yet to get programmed out.

Thanks for the advice guys, do think there is some more power in her, traction is still an issue right out of the hole. She will spin the tires, so slicks would help that, but will have to put an Eaton Posi in first. It is amazing that the truck does as well as it does with the 3.42 gears. If I dig into the power enrichment using HP Tuners it may pick up a little more with just that. Looking forward to improving a little more.

mine did almost the same numbers with the 3.42's until i changed over to 3.90's. i picked up 2 tenths of a second with just the gear change.

Black Iced - how come you did not go with 4.10's, just would like to know why more guys seem to go with 3.90's. Another question about slicks. What is the biggest size that you can put on a stock aluminum rim without causing any problems? Stock rim is 7.5 inches wide. Thanks.

i didnt want to run that many RPM's going down the highway, plus lose that little extra mileage. i think the 3.90's are just the right gear for these trucks

Know what you mean about the rpms, that is why I have kept my 3.42's, the 3000stall converter gives me the best of both worlds. Fast launch and great cruising on the highway. What did you run without NOS?
