I would have to agree with F8LZ71 with the 212/218 youi can shift it @ 6500 and be good and just hold it in 2nd gear. Are put 4.10 in and move your timing up in 3rd. I run right now 34* at this time.

When you say it "pulled 35-37* of Timing" in third, what is your KR? It really sounds like its retarding the timing, not advancing it. is it pinging or anything? Make sure it the total timing your looking at and not and not the retard table. My truck pulled like a bastard through 1st and 2nd and died off as soon as it hit 3rd and only ran 85mph. After logging it I found the kr pulled my timing down to 2* total. "Boat ancor" is right

looked at my log again, it was the Advance scale I was looking at. There was no KR recorded on the whole run. Last time I had adjusted timing, it would just barely get KR, but backed it off so it would not come into play. But the cells that showed 35-37 I had never hit before. First time out to the strip since last tune.

Think that if lock up was delayed or eliminated for the run, it will pull in 3rd gear. Here is a question though, should I adjust Normal as well as Performance mode, or just the Performance mode to get lock up removed? Thanks for the help.

I am with F8LZ71,

manually shift it yourself, that's what I did the last time and it seemed to work alot better, I shift to 3rd gear right at the 1/4mile line which is about 5800-5900 rpm on my truck,(~90mph).

tell ya what I will do, after I make the changes in the computer, it will be a trip back to the drag strip and we will see what works best. Manual shifting the trans or letting the computer delay lock up. May the best time win. Think the track is open again on tuesday night so should be able to get out there and lets pray the rearend holds
up, lol. That may be another story.

Just a follow up to where I am at with my truck. Got rained out at the drag strip on Tuesday, so will have to wait for next nice day. But this is what I did to fix my truck. Used HP Tuners and went into the transmission section and was able to set the TCC setting so that Lock up did not occur in third gear, delayed it till 110 MPH which it will never hit.

Took my truck out for a test drive on the interstate for a wide open throttle blast. Not only did Lock up not come into play, but the truck continued to pull strong all the way to 100 MPH. So I am very thankfull to you folks that posted here with help on this subject, it has been a great thread, and hope this may help someone else here in the future that may have the same problem.

Soon as I can get back to the track I will come back and post the results with info from my timeslip. Thanks again.

no, no, no.....i dont run on the 20's when i go to the track. actually a few days before i went to the track i bought some ET streets from Jeff (Inspector12) and they hook great.

and i did just fill the bottle and made some runs. i could have been more aggressive off the line, but i was getting to crazy with it.
