Welded flanges on your pacesetters

Ball and socket worked out great for me. With my Radix, I kept blowing out the gaskets on the 3-bolt flanges I started out with. I tried the soft aluminum ones that are supposed to seal up better, but they ended up melting.

How many of you guys welded up your y-pipe? I've got all sorts of leaks in mine, considering doing flanges and just welding the joints. I'm using the band clamps, they worked well at first, but they developed leaks after things heat cycled.

The copper gaskets are the only things that hold up for me. I tried the aluminum ones (melted) and the composite ones (blew out). The system I built is flanged in three places on each side and I use 3-bolt 3" copper gaskets between all of them.
