Default Vortec Max/VHO oil cooler added to 5.3?

Is it possible to add a factory oil cooler to a stock 5.3? Thinking this would help lower my overheating problem when towing or sitting in traffic with these crappy electric fans. Also thinking of buying a 04 fan shroud and clutch fan to replace my electric ones or maybe use a horton electro clutch driven fan.

I'm pretty sure the factory oil coolers are right in front of the radiator. If I look through my grill I can see mine. Pretty much looks like this, just not as nice...

Factory Transmission Cooler - 12497071
Recommended for upgrading to a trailering system. Helps prevent transmission overheating. This kit includes the cooler, lines and everything needed for installation.

i used the LQ9 cooler and also used the rad from a SSS on my RCSB setup. my truck used to be a 5.3 now a modded 6.0 so yes it will work but if you do it factory way you will need the larger rad

Truck already has a 34" rad from the factory but not with the built in cooler. I have the trans cooler on my truck already. I experiece overheading when towing only yes. On the road the electric fans are ALWAYS on reguardless of A/C. The only time they cycle is when it's in the low 60s. I am sure the problem is the electric fan that these trucks have without a doubt.
