thanks for the great info.

i love my K&N, i would probably buy another one. but i was strongly thinking of getting a volant for my next truck just for change and to see how i like it. i was a little disappointed to hear that it doesn't have that throaty sound like the K&N

Don't get me wrong, there is still a good sound, just not as loud as the K&N. On the 2000 Silverado Truck I'm comparing to, the K&N would make noise on the highway with cruise set. The only time you hear the Volant in my 2005 Silverado is during acceleration

Judging from the gains I saw on the G-Tech after the Volant install then numbers seem to be right on.
I saw that show...23 from the cai...thought it was a 6.0L .They were using a Mustang dyno.

I saw the show too. It was a 6.0 with a regular gas tune from the Hypertech. They said the premium gas tune barely made more power than the regular gas one. It was a Mustang dyno, and I was impressed with the numbers from the Volant, and Hypertech.

Doesn't the air scoop pick up lots of dirt or water when it's raining? Thought ram air was only really efective at high speeds? MAybe I'm wrong.

I just added my Volant CAI in my 05 VHO without any gains felt. Though the other guys never said if they were using the ram air scoop on thiers. Though then again, where is the ram air scoop going to give gains on a chasis dyno when the vehicle is setting still?

Anyways I just have the Volant CAI kit without the Ram Air Scoop. Though I did order it already.

Strange how they added 46hp and I added 0hp. Ask any dyno operator, they'll laugh if you tell them you're going to gain even 10hp from an intake. When I had my dyno done with the Hypertech, they guy said they've never seen more than 2hp, which could be just one dyno run next to another (variables). He was right. The shifts were firmer, the rpm was extended, etc., but no gains in power and that was on the Premium setting.

I gained about a tenth in the 1/4 with mine. Hard to tell, its more responsive. I think the two guys were full off poop. 24hp. yeah right.
