Thumbs up Volant Cool Air Intake Results

My Volant came it today so when I got off work I did a few test runs with the G-Tech then when home to install the Volant. Installation was very easy and took only about 30 minutes. After installation I went do a few more test runs with the G-Tech. Installing the Volant picked up an average of .32 of a second and 3mph in the 1/4 mile.

I also found that the Volant isn't as noisy as the K&N FIPK but then again I'm comparing the Volant on an 2005 Silverado and the K&N FIPK on a 2000 Silverado.

Wow, that would be roughly 30-40hp, impressive. I've yet to gain more than 7hp with any intake I've ever done (Z06, Lightning, Cobra, 5.0, Denali, etc...).
Go Volant!

I was rather surprised myself. First Mod I did to the truck was install 3 inch exhaust from Y pipe out factory location through an AeroChamber muffler. There was a noticable difference but I didn't have my G-Tech at the time and didn't get a chance to make it to the track before installing the exhaust to see the gains. So far my truck has responded really well to the mods I've done. I do have a Predator from Runnin With The Devil but I haven't installed the tune yet. I'm gonna try to go to the track Saturday for Test and Tune and see what kinds of results the Predator will give me.

Yep, big difference. Mine was a '98. Blown Cobras will make much more. It's rare that any N/A car/truck will make over 5-8whp.

Not sure how true this is but a friend of mine said he was watching 2 Guys Garage on Speed Vision and they dynoed a 5.3L truck with a HyperTech and Volant and it picked up 46RWHP. 22rwhp with just the HyperTech and 24rwhp with just the Volant. Judging from the gains I saw on the G-Tech after the Volant install then numbers seem to be right on.
