Default Vinci Ultra Torque vs Comp Xtreme Hi-Lift

Ok guys, debating between these two cams.

XLS file I used to compare the cams: Cam.

Vinci Ultra Torque:
DUR @ .004" 272/280
DUR @ .050" 210/218
LIFT .551/.551
OVERLAP 48
LSA 116 "ULTRA TORQUE"

Comp Xtreme Hi Lift
DUR @ .006" 265/271
DUR @ .050" 212/218
LIFT .558/.563
OVERLAP ???
LSA 115

Here is what I am debating between, the Vinci and Comp cam. They look pretty similar and I'm leaning towards the Comp High Lift, but curious if anyone had any opinions. Here's a graph that I used to compare, and then I have the xls sheet on as well (above).

What are your supporting mods? This is for the 4.8L right?

Will you be getting a higher stall TC, gears, etc?
I'd say go with the Comp just because it a hair bigger.

Go with the trucker cam. 216/224-551/551 115lsa. Find the cam you want and step it up a little is what i always heard.

Sorry, stupid omission. This is for the 6.0L swap. Gears and TC may be put in down the road, but in the near future they aren't in the cards. Before that I might have the heads worked to get a higher compression, but again, probably next year.

EDIT: Keep in mind I may have to pass a sniffer test at some point.

In that case I think they are both too small.

220/220 .550ish on a 115.

I looked at the trucker and i wanted to add the power down low. I don't hit that 6k limit nearly as much as others on here, so I'm really aiming for the down low, that's why i'm trying to stay away from the larger durations. Good suggestions though, it has me thinking.

You can always have Comp grind you exactly what you want for the same price as one of their off-the-shelf cams, i.e. 214/220, 214/222, 216/220, etc.

I dont know where you got your overlap number from on the Vinci but overlap on the Vinci is -18* and the Hi Lift has -15* overlap. You can get a bigger cam, say a 220/220 w/114 LSA and still have -8* overlap and still pass smog. From what I've seen pass here in cali the general rule of thumb seems to be about -4* of overlap or more depending on the duration of the cam. 220 cam on 114 lsa should pass fine. Hell a 220 on a 112 might even pass if the tune is good.

I missed the "looking for down low post". If you want down low go with a 216/216 with over .57x lift on a 110+0 LSA. That way with that small of a duration and a 110 lsa you still only have -4* overlap which should pass fine and also your torque numbers should be a nice straight line from 0-peak rpms

Even with -4* of overlap, How will that 110+0 idle?
